Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DOD IT is designed for government employees, contractors and those seeking to gain a thorough understanding of RMF fundamentals in our comprehensive 1-day bootcamp without having to spend an entire week in class. Our RMF training will teach you how the federal government and DOD contractors implement the 6-steps of RMF to enhance information security and standardize risk management processes throughout the enterprise. RMF Bootcamp is a 1-day course held in Tysons Corner, VA (Washington DC metro area). See footnotes on how to receive RMF Bootcamp at your facility via our mobile training team (travel within the U.S.).
RMF Bootcamp demystifies the aura of the federal enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework (RMF) by clearly outlining the duties, roles, and responsibilities of each step of the RMF process. At the core, the government uses RMF to enhance information security by focusing on implementation and enforcement of management procedures rather than solely relying on technology. Therefore, RMF Bootcamp emphasizes information security and information assurance procedures used throughout the enterprise architectures and system development life cycle to ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of federal information and information systems. Our experienced instructors will show you best practices and the most important aspects within each of the 6-steps of RMF (i.e., categorize, select, implement, assess, authorize, monitor). RMF Bootcamp breaks down the RMF methodology into steps, tasks, outputs and responsibilities using lectures, case studies and exercises that provide a functional understanding of RMF that will allow students to immediately apply their new knowledge to their daily work. RMF Bootcamp covers the requirements and the use of FIPS 199, FIPS 200, NIST SP 800-60, NIST SP 800-53 v4, NIST SP 800-53A, CNSSI 1253 and much, much more. Included with each course, each student will receive 30 minutes of one-on-one follow-up consultation via phone to help answer any implementation or interpretation issues.
Any government and contractor/vendor who requires a firm understanding of RMF for DOD IT systems.
